Not "Feeling" It
I don't know if it because of one or more of the following, but I am not able to really concentrate on getting set for trades due to:
-Very tired after a long weekend where maybe I did not sleep enough
-Missed about 3 monster moves up in stocks I had worked on but did not pull the trigger
-Have no idea what the heck is going on in the markets
-A bit distracted because I have not been feeling 100%
-Still on mini vacation in my mind
No matter the cause, one of the most important things I have for trading is "feel". I love charts and all kinds of indicators, but when I am dialed in well it is the "feel" that is the magic ingredient. I cannot quantify this nor really explain it. It both exists for me and works. I don't have it right now.
Luckily I do not trade for my living and I do not manage money for anyone so when this happens I can just pull the plug and sit tight. Earlier in the year I was lacking "feel" but kept trying to make things work and had my worst results of the year. Until I can get in a groove again, I think I will watch and keep notes.
Any traders out there understand what I mean? Do you have market "feel"? What happens when it takes off for a bit?
"Creep" is Released
My friend Jennifer Hillier goes BIG TIME today with the release of her first novel, a hardcover thank you very much, titled "Creep". Now it could just be possible that I have a few extra copies (I bought them, no affiliation with the book or publisher save Jennifer is my friend) that I am going to give away. I am still thinking about what kind of contest to run for these books, maybe on Friday. It seems no one wants to solve DNA based puzzles, so that's out. Drop a comment on what kind of contest you would like to see. There will be six books available:

Too bad you don't do Facebook, because I posted up a pic on my profile today showing my purchase of Jen's novel from my local Barnes & Noble. It was right there on display in the "New Fiction" section when you first walk in.
I let loose a genuine SQUEE! on first sight. :)
So, yeah, I already have my copy! Now if I can only figure out a way to get Jen to autograph it while she's here in NYC . . .
And btw, I so feel ya on the vacay mind. Work was horribly long and unproductive today because I just couldn't seem to find my groove. I think tomorrow will be better, though. Or maybe I need another vacay?

It's always the case, needing a vacay from the vacay. Especially now that it's summer, it's hard to gear up.
Around your stomach there is a ganglia of nerves that serve as a second mind. It's what the term "gut instinct" refers to.
There is a big difference between what the brain thinks and what the gut feels. As the old saying goes, always trust your gut.
If you don't feel it, don't do it. Always trust your gut.
It's the same with housing. Hey, the house sells itself. There's nothing I can say or do to convince someone to buy it. All I can do is clean it, make any necessary repairs, put a sign in the yard, and advertise it. Only someone who has a feel for the house is going to make an offer on it.
This is why I don't bullshit buyers. There's no point to it. Either they have a feel for the house or they don't. I'm not a con man. I just show the house and answer any questions they might have. Maybe they want to buy it, maybe they don't. Such is life.
As far as Ms. Hillier's book goes, I don't have a clue about what sort of contest to run. The book sells itself. But if you want to give it away, I'll take one.
Congrats to your friend for getting her book published!
I'm having a nice ice cold Guinness to celebrate, and it's not even my book.
