Examining the disconnect between perception and reality
Amazing game. I have seen very few better than that one. Real nervy, down to the wire, guts on the line. Wow. With a game like that, I wouldn't have bee upset with either outcome.Well, okay, maybe just a teeny bit. :) But we got extremely lucky, I won't lie.
I remember back in the 70s when the Steelers beat the Cowboys in the Super Bowl twice. It hurt. But I have to admit they were the better team.I don't know that the Giants are a better team than the Patriots, although they do seem to have their number. Going back to the Super Bowl four years ago, the Giants have beaten the Patriots every time they've played. Both times in the Super Bowl, the game turned on a freak catch. But that's not what won either game. It was the defense. Both times Tom Brady had a chance for a game-winning drive. And both times, New York didn't call a prevent defense. No, they called a fire blitz and sacked Tom Brady. This is what I'm talking about. Quarterbacks do not win championships. Defense does.
David, tough win and Giants played better. Gawians, you called the Superbowl excatly!
