What a wild late game between the Saints and the Dolphins!
NFL Week 7 Recap
Another day of NFL football that features wildness all over the place.
-In the days two "that makes sense" games the Colts blow away the Rams and the Raiders return to their inept ways as the Jets win a blow out.
-The Bengals win big against the Bears and still share first place.
-The Steelers hand the Vikings their first loss, but the Vikes dominated this game at the line and killed themselves with mistakes.
-How good are the Texans?
-The Bills won again.
-The Browns are terrible.
-So are the Chiefs.
-The Cowboys beat a quality opponent and finally play a complete game. Miles Austin is a dangerous weapon and the defense of Dallas played a full 4 quarters. See Gawains, the Boys are better than you thought, just like I said!
-The Patriots win easy again, and their defense is getting outright scary. The offense looked pretty good, although there were a few mistakes. Enjoy the bye week boys, the next 4 games decide the entire season (vs Miami, at Indianapolis, vs Jets, at New Orleans) so rest up.
-In a wild game, the Saints have come all the way back from down 24-3 (and being totally embarrassed) against the Dolphins. The Saints had one of their signature "No Show" games (they usually have about 3 a season) in the first half, but turned it all around after halftime. I have never seen a Saints team this focused and their refusal to lose this game was amazing. Note to the rest of the league, be very afraid. Final score 46-34! I have to catch my breath.
The last game of the day is coming up, lets see if the Cardinals can generate some excitement against the Giants.

If the offensive line can tighten up (penalties) and give Brady the extra half second he seems to need these days (merely superhuman) the Pats will be unstoppable.

With Matt Light out, his replacement is a young inexperienced guy, #76 who had more than his share of problems on Sunday. Hopefully Light will eb back after the bye week, and then the Pats have the four games which will determine their season. Exciting times.
Man, one of the best aspects of living in the Mountain time zone is Monday Night Football games are usually over before 10 p.m.
When I lived in NYC, I hated having to stay up until 12:30 or 1 a.m. to watch the end of a good game. Of course, I used to be able to leave work, play squash, grab dinner on the way home, catch Melrose Place and then MNF, for a great Monday after work combo LOL
Sorry I'm late, I came as fast as I could. But I just back from Dallas.
Yeah, it was a great game. And the Cowboys did play a complete football game, for once. Offense, defense and specialy teams were all improved. Several players did excel, Romo, Austin, Crayton, Beuller, Ware, Witten, Jenkins, hell, even Ball showed up. So it was a team victory.
But I wouldn't put too much stock in it, just one game. Dallas has to play well consistenly, conseculatively, in fact always, all season if they are to win a championship, much less advance in the playoffs.
You don't know them like I do, GYC. You weren't born in Texas to a woman whose mother was the greatest die-hard Cowboys fan the world has ever seen. My grandmother watched every Dallas game, and she'd cheer and she'd woop, she'd scream and she'd cry. Every game, from the very first game till the last game she saw before she passed away, after some thirty six years of watching Cowboys football. But at least she lived long enough to see back-to-back Super Bowls and three in four years.
As a burbling babe, four months old, in 1961, Dallas's second season, I was raised sitting on my grandmother's lap, watching Cowboys football. The first word I mouthed was not mama or dada, it was Dallas.
The earliest game I remember is the Ice Bowl, when I was of five years, in 1967. From that day to this, over 42 years, I have lived and died with the Dallas Cowboys. I've seen them at their best and I've seen them at their worst.
So don't tell me they're better than I thought they were, because I don't know how good they are. The played well in one game against a credible winning team that they had two weeks to prepare for, and got several injured players back.
Who do they have up next? Seattle, at Philadelphia, at Green Bay. They need to win at least two of those games. Do you think they will?
I don't know. They're good enough, or rather they have the potential to be good enough to win all three. We'll just have to see.
