Special Bonus Post

A Saturday blog due to a great find today!

New Tool Now in Play
I have been impressed with iBankCoin's Chessnwine since starting to read him on a hat tip from Josh Brown of The Reformed Broker. After watching this guy make uncanny calls for months I wanted to learn a bit more about the PPT, a trading tool and screener based on their own program.

I signed up today and I am impressed already with everything the PPT can do. There is a TON of useful stuff there and it will take me a bit to figure it all out and do some testing before I start using it to support my own secret way of picking out positions. I think it is going to be fun. I will update in a while when I am ready to start getting to work.

College Band CD Find
The wife found a CD with songs from a band some members of my college program (biotechnology) had made way back in 1997-1998! I was so excited because I knew there was a particular song I used to love and I have not heard it in years!

The band was called Man Bites Back, which was funny. I have no musical ability so I was not involved, but some of my best college friends were in the band. They played all kinds of stuff and got to play local clubs in Lowell. They even scored a show at T.T. and the Bears in Cambridge! That was a wild time!

For a bunch of scientist hopefuls, they could really play! Here is my favorite song by the band titled "Ghetto Starlight". This song is about 1000% better in a live setting when the singer can really let it rip, but the recorded version is awesome as well. I spent about an hour figuring out how to put it on YouTube and so here it is:

"She took me by the hand on a rocket ride! Into the sky! And I don't know why!"

Thought I would share a great memory from the old days. I hope you like the song.

Have a good night.

hey Jake,
glad you liked it! Like I said, it's a bit more raw and loud live, but the studio version was not too bad. I miss those guys and those times......

GYC - I'm really confident about everything I wrote in that TPC thread. It's not about real economic activity - it's about asset price inflation. It's all about the TrimTabs model - which is about the TRUTH behind cash on the sidelines changing - buybacks and issuance. (think about it this way: when Treasuries mature, that's asset-price-bullish - money gets returned to investors, and they reinvest it. When the Fed buys your treasuries, the same thing happens. I can't believe the guys in that thread don't understand this - they are neck deep in their theory and missing the forest for the trees - or something like that.

I can't believe you bought the PPT - good luck. Be aware that part of it "working" might be 1000 guys like you following the signals - and that speed might be of the essence. don't get caught holding the hot potato.

I've always said that the best guitar player who ever lived never played the guitar. I suppose it's the same for all aspects of music.

It's not about talent but more about opportunity. There are lots of really talented bands out there that don't get the exposure they deserve. In fact, Van Halen was a garage band until Gene Simmons discovered them and produced their first album.

Look at all the truly great performers. Elvis Presley was a truck drive in Tupelo, Mississippi, for crying out loud. The Beatles, the Stones, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the list goes on, all of them came from humble beginnings.

Paul Stanley was a taxi driver in New York, as was Ace Frehley. Gene Simmons was a junior high math teacher. Peter Criss was an out of work drummer. But when they got together to form a band, they rocked the world and ruled the stage.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that some college guys studying bio-tech can play better music than anything seen on MTV lately.

Kid,
The PPT is a tool, I will use it for my own means and for my own parameters. Look, I cannot even get online in a meaningful way all day due to firewalls at work, you think I will daytrade with that? No worries dude bu thanks for the advice.

The TPC thread really made it clear in my mind that while TPC and CA know their stuff, they are blinded by their dogma. Your points were great and never really refuted in a real world basis. In time it will all be clear.

Gawains,
you know music like no one else! MTV sucks, I hate rap/other crap.

What about Randy Moss going to the Titans?

Mike Keith was on the radio last week talking about it, he thought Randy might fit in pretty good with the Titans.

Also he was hinting that the Titans could possibly be a contender for the Super bowl because of this.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I think Moss could be a great fit in Tenn. Their running game can really support Moss downfield, should be interesting. Moss should be very well behaved, this has to be his last chance.

Well, Jerry Jones fired Wade Phillips today. Not surprising, but unwarranted.

I'm going to put my request for Friday Night Entertainment in early this week.

Alice Cooper, "Welcome to my Nightmare."

First off I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question which I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Kudos!
