Black Friday Night Entertainment

I hope you all dodged being hit with pepper spray across the country as you went Black Friday shopping. If you are not too tired from all the buying and not in jail, it's still a Friday night here at the blog!

Saw Twilight "Breaking Dawn part 1" today, it's no Oscar winner that's for sure.

Market Commentary
It's ugly. It's bad. That is all. More on Sunday.

Friday Night Entertainment
Let's see what I can find to interest you.

The Brinicle
Caught this over at Geekologie and it's well worth the time spent. When ultra salty melt water flows down into the ocean it is able to make an ice plume, a brinicle, all the way to the sea floor. The ice is fast developing and will kill anything that it traps in the process. Poor starfish:

Way beyond cool. Pun intended.

It's easier this way.

Film Clips
Rental advice.

Wes Craven has made many films, most great but some turkey's. I can see where he wanted to go with "Deadly Friend", and it's worth a watch, but it's still a "so bad it's good" sort of flick. Here is the trailer:

One of my favorite lines: "But something tells me you're going to remember me this time" in "American Beauty":

New era classic.

Rock Blogging
Music for the masses.

Loyal reader Watchtower pinged me with a request for an 1980's tune that I have never heard. Try out Nik Kershaw and "Wouldn't It be Good":

Not bad.

I know I am going to inundate you with Nightwish's song "Sleeping Sun" but I think it one of the more beautiful songs I have ever heard. Via the wonders of YouTube here is a piano version of the song:

So pretty.

Some ideas from Twitter.

@seaside_elec was thinking something inspirational, like "Eye of the Tiger" from Survivor would help things turn around. You never know!:

From @TimWolfgang, try out Bright Eyes and "First Day of My Life":

Not bad at all.

From @29thHarvickfan, a little "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC but you know I going live at Donnington!:

Look at that crowd! That's why rock is the best. Hip hop lovers just want to be SEEN at a concert, would kill to be there. Real rock lovers will KILL to be there and don't care about being seen. Big difference.

Two left.

One of my top 10 songs, "The Boxer" by Simon and Garfunkel:

Last call! You should know what to do.

Closing the show with "You Can't Kill Rock and Roll" by Ozzy with Randy Rhoads. Finest guitar player I have ever heard:

Have a good night.

Yeah, it's bad everywhere. And it's because of top heavy administrations that are corrupt to the core.

http://www.amazon.com/Throw-Them-All-Peter-Schweizer/dp/0547573146/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1322275818&sr=1-1

Lawmakers trading on inside information, buying IPOs at bargain basement prices, passing legislation intended to enrich themselves, it's criminal!

This is why my basic political philosophy is to vote against every incumbent.

Anyway, brinicles, yeah I knew about them. They're basically an inverse ice version of a water spout. When fish fall from the sky, it's because they got sucked up by a water spout and thrown into the atmosphere.

But that video is obviously computer generated by an idiot, because starfish do not crawl around like that. They're slow-moving creatures.

As to rock and roll, you'll never see a crowd like that at a rap or even a country concert, unless it's at a staged event like the Super Bowl or something.

One of the greatest regrets of my live is that when I was in high school, I went to this drama tournament in Corpus, you know to chase drama girls. When I got back, on Monday like every kid was wearing a Highway to Hell t-shirt.

I asked, "What's up with these Highway to Hell t-shirts?"

"Dude, AC/DC rocked the Villa Real!"

What? That was my chance. I could have, should have, would have been there. Instead, I was 300 miles away, chasing stupid drama girls.

Bon Scott died three months later.

This other guy, I forget his name, was actually the band's original singer. But he couldn't take them out of nightclubs in Australia. Bon Scott took them global, because he had a nasty streak.

Oh man, the SAME thing happens to me on Facebook all the time from this one annoying "friend." I'm seriously thinking of unfriending her, because I think she might be insane! She's just like this "Malik" dweeb in the pic. UGHHHHHHH!

Anyway . . . yeah, that brinicle video was awesome! I watch a lot of nature shows, but this is the first time I've ever seen this phenomenon, or even heard of it. And the visual quality of that underwater camera is UNREAL! I love this HD world we live in! :)

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving, my friend!

Oh, I forgot to add this. You'll never find me at a Black Friday riot in the mall.

These people are beyond stupid.

Don't you know that the third week of January almost every retailer has a 60%-off sale? That's when you buy Christmas presents.

You simply buy items at more than half-price, stock them in a closet, then wrap them up and give them out 11 months later.

Works every year.

Could I talk you into saying a few words on the recent yield crisis of Italy, Spain and Belgium?

Would like to hear your opinion on this, and how you think it will effect the Euro and the EU itself.

Watchtower, yes I can discuss it, probably on Sunday.

Gawains, the video was sped up time lapse.
