We have a new critter in the yard. A monster red tail hawk! Maybe all the trees we had removed allow him to fly easier into the yard. The chipmunks and squirrels had better be wary!
Ear Muffs Time
I could not make heads or tails of today's action. Reading did not help too much either, people are seeing all kinds of stuff. Some I see, others I have no idea where they are getting it.
I think I have covered what needs to be covered. Friday will be the big reveal show for the market going forward.
Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO
This just came across tonight. It's all you are going to hear about for a bit.
I think Jobs is the greatest innovator of the last 30 years. I hope he can take some time and get rest. I fear he is very ill, but he has worked miracles before.
I have no position in AAPL stock, but I don't think it should drop much here, it's not exactly a surprise. If it does I could see buying some for myself.
Have a good night.
A red tailed hawk! Cool...maybe you can get a picture this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the Apple stock. I doubt if it will go down much at all. They've really built a money making machine.
If you are taking requests for Friday, how about some vintage Eagles, like Take It Easy. (That's how I feel about this economy)
How about Tequila Sunrise?
ReplyDeleteHey Get, I dont know if you covered this, but check out this robot flying with NASA.

Take one look at that picture and tell me that Bot is not evil! You can already tell, it is gonna kill the ISS crew, and use it as a command post to wipe out the humans on the earth below.
Seriously, why doesnt NASA think these things through before they come up with missions like this!!!
Anon, of course I saw that. Its the next logical step in the robot subjugation of humans.
ReplyDeleteMy father was a computer programmer and systems analyst in the dark ages, back in the days of giant main frames that ran on tape reels and punch cards. When I was a kid, he used to take to where he worked, and I would marvel at these machines that took up entire floors of office buildings.
ReplyDeleteBill Gates dropped out of college and started building personal computers in his garage. He combined disparate technologies for different companies, like IBM and Xerox and others. Gates contacted IBM three times and told them that if they didn't patent DOS, someone else would. They ignored him, so he patented it. That changed the world.
The internet was actually invented by the military. Gates took it global.
Steve Jobs also dropped out of college to start Apple. Michael Dell started Dell Computers in his dorm room at UT. Since I have never used either of their products, I can't speak to their efficiency. Their stock values do not concern or interest me.
But I will tell you this. About 15 years ago, my father needed a new computer, so he bought an Apple. It frustrated him to no end, and he took it back the next day. "Real men use PCs, son," he said.
Personally, I'm an HP guy myself, although I hear they're getting out of the hardware business and moving to corporate software. If true, I don't know what I'm going to do when this computer eventually dies.
Gawains, yes I am an HP guy myself. What can you do right?
