Well I never would have guessed that there were so many bike riders and skate boarders out there in the audience! I loved last nights post as well as all the comments. I hope you had a good time too!
A long week is over, and of course that means the Friday Night show.
And the Band Played On
Job losses picked up again, record numbers are using food stamps, record numbers are on unemployment for record amounts of time, confidence is low, credit is contracting, bond yields would imply a total deflationary collapse, the stock market rockets higher almost weekly and the US Treasury Secretary would like to welcome you to the recovery. Does that about cover it?
What makes me shrug is how most people, especially in the media, all believe that the government would tell anyone things were bad if they were. Things are bad, yet they still smile and say "it's all in your head", which if I recall John McCains's fiance guy was savaged over that exact line, yet Timmy G gets the free pass.
I see this header for an article:
Weak Jobs Report Drives Rates lower; FED to the Rescue Again?
The FED could not rescue single strand DNA if they had the best helper phage in the world! (this is hilarious if you are a molecular biologist!) If they have to rescue things again, then how did the first 3 attempts go?
I want to ask a serious question. Do you think the powers that be would tell you if:
-wheat was about to quadruple in price?
-the oil leak was to kill 50% of all the fish in the Gulf?
-the banking system was about to collapse?
-the US was about to devalue the currency?
Now I am not saying any of these are true, that is not the point. The point is do you think they would tell you the truth about these things? If you say No then you cannot really believe anything that is parroted out as news. If you say yes, you are scaling a wall of hard evidence to the contrary of that viewpoint. It's a rough time.
Friday Night Entertainment
All right, stop what your doing, cuz I'm about to ruin, the image and the style that your used to!
Items of Interest
Some things you mat find of interest, or you may just scroll on by.
-I have no idea what the odds of this occurring are, but it has to be impossibly high:
From the Green River sediment fossils, a big fish eating a smaller one. Amazing if you really think about it.
-Was this the smartest man since Einstein?
-Who uttered the last words "Have I played the part well? Then applaud as I exit" as he died?
-Irony; Brad Pitt ruptured his Achilles tendon while filming "Troy" where he played.......Achilles!
Picture Fun
You know these are good!
This one was too cute:
see more Lolcats and funny pictures
I will never shop at this meat department:
YUCK!
Film Clips
You never know when you may need a movie idea.
At a time when you are deluged with Vampire films, I can offer my full recommendation for "Daybreakers" which was really novel and had wonderful cinematography:
I had this up a couple of years ago, but I still cannot get you to see "3 O' Clock High" fast enough! Skip to the 2 minute mark for the "book report" scene:
Classic!
Rock Blogging
Let us dispense with the pleasantries, I am here to get us back on schedule!
Lurker, who is faster than Josey Wales with a request, would like a little Linda Ronstadt and "Mad Love":
I like that lady.
Reader Gawains, who provided the greatest toy from childhood story ever, wanted "Aimee" by Pure Prairie League which I thought was the Walnut Grove local band:
I never knew who sang that song!
How about a little Smokey Robinson with "Tracks of my Tears":
Maybe we are running low on Fuel, so here is "Hemorrhage":
As an aside, the only real talent to come out of American Idol was Chris Daughtry, and here is his awesome cover.
"Animal Magnetism" from the Scorpions is a nifty tune indeed:
They should make a cologne called 'animal magnetism', I would buy it!
Two to go! Don't cry, there is always next week after all.
Complete with classic video, enjoy ZZ Top and "Legs":
I enjoyed it.
Last call! Twilight is upon us, and soon, night must fall. It is the way of things...
Maybe because I have heard it 5 million times, or maybe I like it, but closing the show with Lady Antebellum and "Need You Now":
Phones after 10pm are not a good idea, HA!
Have a good night.
"I said I wouldn't call but I'm a little drunk and I need you now"
ReplyDeleteWho can't relate to that song? : )

ReplyDeleteYou have a LOT of interesting stuff up tonight, but I'll try to refrain and only bring the Tesla link up (well, besides the Lady Antebellum song).
The Nikola Tesla link was especially good IMO.
Might just be because he is featured prominently in one of my favorite video games, i.e. Fallout 3 and I'm partial because of that fact:
'Nikola Tesla in popular culture - Wikipedia The Free Encyclopedia'
"The historical background of the Fallout series of computer games is based around Tesla's inventions all working as expected and his physical theories were correct."
http://tinyurl.com/5tjajs
Plus the fact that when I visited Niagra Falls last year, I went over to Goat Island, NY to see the brass statue of Nikola Tesla (along with the Falls of course).
It was cool to show my daughter that statue and tell her a little bit about who he was and what he did, not that it held her interest for long, because it didn't, but at least I got a chance to try.
No doubt in my mind that the guy was a genius.
Sorry for posting twice, couldn't help myself!
Well at least we know who made Halo 1! Ha!
ReplyDeleteWt, post as much as you like, you inspred one of my better posts ever!
Oh C-T, I think about a lady that can do black belt martial arts all the time!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great B-day! Glad I could help.
Well, I'm expecting you'll be grilling again tomorrow, GYC. You might get a kick out of this.
ReplyDeleteMy brother flew down from Maine to visit our mother. He came in skinny as me. Became a vegetarian, and lost 50 lbs. All he wanted was some bottled water and carrots when he got here.
You would have to be bone stupid, out of your mind crazy to come into my house and ask me to serve bottled water and carrots. But I did, because he is my brother after all. Visited with him for a while.
Ding ding ding! Dinner's ready. What are we having? A 3 lb slab of brisket, smothered in barbeque sauce, a pot of baked beans, fresh bread, and beer. (Those are the four major food groups in Texas, you know.)
Four plates, that's how many he ate. Four. He couldn't stop! He just kept getting up, filling plate after plate, more brisket, more beans, more bread, more beer. Poor lost boy, he's been starving himself.
I told him, welcome home, brother. I'm going to put 30 lbs back on you before you go back to Maine.
I'm really Glad i came across this website.Added economicdisconnect.blogspot.com to my bookmark!
ReplyDeleteIs it alright to post some of this on my website if I include a reference to this page?
