I Love Wintertime

It was a classic day here in Massachusetts. Banner even, the kind of day that removes any doubt that this state has more idiots than any other two states put together (excluding Washington DC of course).

What happened? How about a quarter inch of snow that's what! While long time residents of the Bay State know snow, there must be a 95% population turnover here year in and year out because everyone goes all mega donkey stupid at the first hint of frozen water falling from the sky as a punishment from the weather gods.

I had a 3.5 hour commute home to move 29 miles! How's that for efficiency?

My only question for my beloved home state is this:
Why are you all so stupid? It's a simple question though the answers promise to be complicated.

Heard of Gaussian Distribution? I love that science fact when viewed through the prism of asking people questions. Ask 100 people if they are dumb, average intelligence, or very smart and 9 out of 10 will say they are very smart. Of course we know that is not the case, but whatever.

Anyways, one work day to go. I am hoping for no weather related issues tomorrow.

Have a good night.

If an interviewer asked me whether I was dumb, intelligent or smart, my response would be "stupid."

That's not one of the options, unless stupid is a synonym for dumb or genius is a synonym for smart, and that's the point.

I love messing with these people who do IQ tests or whatever. My intention is to be the outlier, because I really don't care. No test is ever going to define me.

I perform well at most tasks, not so well at others, like everyone else. But I refuse to allow myself to be defined by some test writer.

I looked at the link on the Gaussian Distribution. It had a bunch of complicated equations, fancy mathematical formulas, strange Greek symbols, and so forth. It was indiscernible to me.

Give me a poem to read, and I'll tell you what it says. Give me an equation, and I'll stare at you blank-faced.

It's the same with football. How many players drafted in the 1st round can actually play the game? Not very many. How many players drafted in the late rounds or not even drafted at all can actually play the game? A lot.

This is what I'm talking about. Joe Montana was a 6th round pick, as was Tom Brady. Roger Staubach was an 11th round pick. These are some of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. When was the last time you heard their names mentioned in the same sentence as Ryan Leaf, a No. 1 pick?

To my knowledge, the only quarter drafted No. 1 who went on to win the Super Bowl is Troy Aikman. I could be wrong on that, but I haven't done the research. The point is that most of the truly great quarterbacks were not drafted high, but low.

It goes to the failure of tests to predict success. Stats, as they say, are for losers.

Give me an Otto Graham, a Bart Starr, a Johnny Unitas, a Terry Bradshaw, a Roger Staubach, a Joe Montana, a Tom Brady, and I'll win football games. Give me Troy Aikman and I'll win championships.

Give me Ryan Leaf, or Tony Romo for that matter, and I'll throw up.

It's all about being a leader of men, and men are not led easily. No test or statistic can determine that. It has to be determined on the field.

I would have to check but I think both Manning Brothers were #1 picks. Still, you are right.

You are better off knowing the literary side of thibgs, math sucks!

My Dad always said the only measure of a man is what he does, not anything else. I used to think that was a bit vague, but now I think I am getting it.

I'm not going to tell you my IQ, LOL.

If you want to get a good gauge of the IQ of mankind in general, ask a retail worker. They will tell you that humans are the most stupid, lazy, moronic species to ever breed on this planet. Only a human could bother someone to help them to find a box of aspirin when they are standing right next to it, in an aisle full of aspirin.

Logic would tell you that if you are driving in bad weather, you slow down, be careful, and things will turn out all right. But people are stupid. They, for the most part, do neither of these things. And when things don't work out, they're surprised. Duh!
